The Ellora Alanta International festival which now takes place at the Soneri Mahal has been very close to my heart since its beginning. I am blessed to have been closely associated with it from day one The festival which earlier used to take place on the backdrop of the great Kailash cave at Ellora was shifted to Soneri Mahal in the city of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar because of restrictions at the cave site and for the convenience of audience.

This festival has been a stage for a great bunch of artists who propagate traditional Indian classical, semi-classical, contemporary, and folk art forms, and have a huge fan following in the country as well as across the globe.

Thanks to the district administration of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the Department of Tourism, and the local organizing committee for having this festival revived again which had a break for a few years. Now It has been decided to hold this festival every year in a well-planned manner in the first week of February The main festival is preceded by Purvarang and followed by Uttarrang which will make this festive season last for fifteen days.

In Purvarang and Uttarang, local artists would showcase their art This will help the world know the treasure we have. I wish The festival to reach new heights every year and to contribute to the development of the tourism, culture, economy, and overall growth of the city region and the state.
